Imagine paradise.
No, seriously.
REALLY imagine it.
Close your eyes, and take a few minutes to place yourself there.
What does it look like? What does it feel like?
For me, paradise is a beach.
Bright blue skies above, warm air surrounding me like a hug, but with a cool breeze to keep things comfortable. Soft white sand squishing between my toes, calm and clear turquoise waters, palm trees swaying nearby. Quiet, except for the sound of the waves splashing against the shores.
And in my own personal paradise, there’d definitely be loads of friendly animals hanging around. Preferably of the furry, mammalian type.
When I landed on Isabela Island, coming over from Floreana, I experienced my imaginary paradise in the flesh.
Not only does the island check all the boxes of my personal definition of destination perfection, but it even adds some aspects beyond even my imagination.
Like…. everything in shades of blue?
You know I’m all about the blue.
Even the BIRDS are rocking the blue hue in Isabela.
The beauty of this place transcends my meager definition of perfect in so many ways. Isabela is populated by the most beautiful animals and filled with diverse landscapes that I couldn’t have dreamed of and can’t adequately describe, so I’ll leave you in peace to enjoy some more photos of paradise.
I mean, Isabela.
First, the inhabitants of Isabela…
And now, the (astoundingly diverse) landscapes…
Does it get more perfect?
Well….
No.
Not really.
But if I’m being forced into an answer… there are only two ways my Isabela island experience could have been improved.
One: having my husband there to explore with me (he’s kind of the best, ever).
Two: a bottomless glass of chilled wine in my hand.
That damn human brain – always grasping for more even amidst perfections.
Oh, and I’d add in some dogs, too. Anywhere could be improved with the addition of dogs.

If you want to experience the paradise of Isabela Island like I did, I recommend going with Galakiwi!
While I visited the Galapagos as a guest of Galakiwi, as always my opinions remain entirely my own.
