I GOT MARRIED!

I haven’t posted since December 21.

I must be, like, the worst blogger ever, right?

Perhaps. But I won’t pass that judgment on myself, and I have almost zero guilt about it… because I have a REALLY REALLY REALLY good reason for this total silence.

I got married!

Getting Married in Koh Thailand, in the Thai Way

getting married in the Thai way

I’ve spent the last few weeks enjoying fun, sun, (and more than the usual amount of rain) with 22 of my absolutely FAVORITE people on the whole planet.

A Night out on Khao San, Bangkok, Thailand with my Family

a night out with my family on Khao San Road, Bangkok

Okay, but, why so quiet? Maybe you’re thinking that I totally could have scheduled some blog posts in advance, or kept you guys updated on my goings-on in Thailand. And you’d be right. (…or maybe you don’t give sh*t about what I got up to, and that’s totally okay too)

To be honest, I made a pretty last minute decision not to bring my laptop, and to spend 4 whole weeks just focusing on my family and friends, while leaving work (and school) for later.

I’ve got a hell of a lot to catch up on now, but I have zero regrets. I’ve never spent so much time disconnected, and it was AMAZING. I had so much more time, along with mental space and energy, to connect with my favorites in person rather than trying to connect with anyone on line.

First Look Wedding on Koh Tao, Thailand

the “First Look” with my incredibly handsome husband

Coming up this month, I’ll be sharing the details of my trip. I spent a week in Bangkok (including a major wedding dress disaster and serious case of Bangkok belly), 5 ridiculously rainy days in Koh Tao (during dry season?!), a blissfully beautiful (and thankfully dry) wedding day, and a short and sweet 4 night honeymoon in Koh Samui before spending one last night in our favorite city in the world, the Big Mango itself.

I just got home late last night, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was ridiculously sad to leave Thailand once again (as was Ran). But I’m looking forward to this New Year as a new start to giving Mexico a real chance as my home, and to stop comparing it to Bangkok… but more on that later.

I hope your New Year is starting out amazing, and I look forward to reconnecting with everybody this month!

XOXOXOX,

Steph Kempker…. or I should say, Steph Edri!

(I could have never focused on the moment so much had I been concerned about capturing it for a Facebook post, or taking video for a Youtube upload. Because of this, I give big thanks to Becca, Jency, Bel, and Sarah for the phone photos shared above!)
