Hi John! Thanks for the suggestion!
Unfortunately, the United Arab Emirates has several policies that violate international human rights. Specifically, I cannot stand for the persecution of homosexuals, nor the treatment of victims of sexual violence (including rape) as criminals.
I hope someday this will be reformed!
Oh my! I was about to sign up to your blog and then I saw this comment. Makes me wonder about your actual knowledge about the other places 🙁

I only write about places that I’ve actually been.
This blog definitely isn’t for everyone, especially people who would disagree with protesting policies that treat rape victims or LGBTQ travelers as criminals.
Hi Steph!! I just found your blog while doing some research on Brazil. Thank you for sharing your experience in rio. I am considering a trip to South America or Central America, and want to ask… what are your favorite cities in those regions, and why? I want to experience the white sandy beaches and nice locals.

Hi Warren,
My favorite places for white sandy beaches and nice people in Latin America include: Bocas del Toro, Panama… Galapagos, Ecuador… Buzios, Brazil… but more than any other place, I’d recommend pretty much any beach town in Mexico including Tulum, Isla Mujeres, Puerto Vallarta, Baja.
Hello ,
Thank you for all the tips about Peru and Costa Rica and mainly for the Peru Hop . It really helps me out as I was quite scared that it was a real scam. By the way you should come and visit Mauritius Island too , you will definitely love it here.

I LOVED Peru Hop – I hope you enjoy it!
I’ve been hearing more and more about Mauritius lately, it sounds incredible!
Just curious: what do you actually do for a living that allows you to live as an expat? It sounds amazing!

Hi Matt! I’ve worked a bunch of different jobs as an expat (and listed them all out here). Currently, though, I’m a full time master’s student and take on contracted consulting and content creation gigs part-time.
