Beers in Budapest: Top Budapest Party Activities

These tips come from my friend Peter, a frequent ruinpub party goer, seasoned beer-imbiber, and Budapest beer biker who says that you MUST take part in these top Budapest activities and nightlife, to make the most of your time in the city!

(Most important? The Budapest Beer Bike)

Like many other party cities, getting involved in a pub crawl in Budapest is a great way to meet new people and have an awesome night out, especially if you’re traveling solo!

It doesn’t matter if you don’t arrive on a weekend, Budapest is partying every night of the week, and there’s a pub crawl to go with it!

Pub Crawl Budapest

The best year-round, every-day pub crawl is the infamous and aptly named Pub Crawl Budapest. Any day of the week, you can take part in a crawl by showing up at 9pm to Deák Ferenc square. The crawl features a visit to 4 famous ruin pubs, bar games, and no lines and no entrance fees. Each ruin pub is within walking distance, all within the popular party district. There is no better way to enjoy Budapest bars and meet new people. Pub Crawl Budapest even gives you free shots, and at each tour stop you get a free drink! You can get another pretty similar experience with AllNightCrash Pub Crawl Budapest, the main difference would be their Power Hour package (an all-you-can-drink option) that includes beer, wine, shots, and long drinks. Actually, they are the only ones including long drinks in their all-you-can-drink package, so if you’re up to crazy Budapest pub crawl, choose them, you won’t regret!

Beer Bike Budapest

How can you beat drinking, exercising, and sight-seeing at the same time?

You can’t.

It’s an easy equation: Beer + Biking = AMAZING , as Pedalbar’s Beer Bike Budapest combines two of Europe’s most famous offerings into one.

Drink all of the beer with none of the guilt, as you’re working out while consuming. In fact, pedaling for two hours can burn off roughly the caloric equivalent of 5 or more beers (depending on your weight and metabolism).

The incredible beer bike tour runs for 2 hours, can accommodate between 6-12 people, and includes an incredible 60 mugs of beer! If that isn’t enough for you, you can even tap your own beer. The music system onboard can be hooked up to your smartphone or connected to a USB, and also includes LED lights for the ultimate beer biking party.

You get to pedal past the most famous sights of Budapest while sipping an icy cold draft beer and hanging out with your friends. You’ll pass by the Great Synagogue, Andrassy Avenue, the Opera House, Oktogon Square, and Heroes Square, providing an excellent opportunity for photo-taking. Pictures from the beer bike turn out much better than those taken from a car due to the lower speed.

Beer biking is the ultimate way to enjoy Budapest (and beer).

Ruin Pubs Budapest

Before Budapest, I’d never heard of ruinpubs.

Basically, it’s the awesome nightlife version of recycling.

Buildings that would otherwise be doomed to destruction or misuse are rebirthed as cool places to grab a drink and hang out, with the addition of alcohol and awesome discarded retro furniture. Literally, a ruin turned into a pub. Ruinpubs.

Two of my favorite ruin pubs are Instant and Fogas, for differing reasons. Instant is the biggest ruinpub in Budapest, with 26 rooms, 7 bars, and even its own festival. Fogas is friendly, with amazing service, and the perfect place to grab a drink, dance, and meet new people. If you want to take advantage of the best Budapest activities and nightlife, a ruinpub is a must on your list.

I had a pub crawl tour in Budapest too, but with another company backpackerpubcrawl. That was amazing experience for me, I really liked it. And I think it’s doesn’t matter which company will provide your pub crawl tour. It definitely would be great!
